Palm House Coffee
Website, booking flow and menu photography for a new Liverpool café. Launched in three weeks, opened on schedule with social and SEO in place.
Fast, honest websites for small businesses. Built by one person from brief to launch - no agency hand-offs, no off-the-shelf themes, no surprises on the invoice.
I’m Jack - a freelance web designer based in Liverpool. I design and build the site myself, write or refine the copy with you, shoot photography on location if you need it, and tune the site after launch so it actually performs.
Most small business websites I build launch in four to eight weeks. You get a fixed price before we start, and you keep the site - no platform lock-in, no monthly licence.
The full pipeline, run by one person. Photography costed separately when the project needs it.
One call to clarify the audience, the goal, and the conversion path before any design happens.
Choose one, refine with one round of edits in writing.
WordPress (mostly), Webflow, or custom code - whatever fits the brief.
I’ll refine your copy or write it from scratch where needed.
On-location shoots in Liverpool and the North West when the project needs them.
Title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, site speed and Core Web Vitals.
Soft launch, two-week tuning window, a handover doc, and you’re set.
Send a short brief and I’ll come back with a written, fixed-price proposal within one working day. Quotes are free and never auto-signed.

Startups, sole traders and small businesses in Liverpool, the North West, across the UK and beyond. Personal trainers launching their first studio. Photographers who need a portfolio that books work. Coaches, consultants, hospitality founders, and small business owners who’ve outgrown a DIY site (Wix, Squarespace, an old WordPress build) and need something that earns its keep - fast, easy to update, properly tracked.
Whether it’s your first website or your fourth, the process is the same - get the positioning right, build something fast and easy to update, and tune it after launch.
Recent clients include independent cafés, photographers, fitness studios, research institutes, and creative agencies. If you sell something, run a service business, or need to be found locally on Google, I can probably help.
A selection. Full project notes and outcomes available on request.

Brand, site and class-booking flow for a Liverpool Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy. Enquiries doubled in the first month after launch.
Portfolio site and lead generation funnel for a Liverpool photographer - designed to book work, not just look good.
Fewer hand-offs. Lower overhead. One person who knows the brand, the site, the customer, and the numbers.
A web design agency in Liverpool typically routes your project through an account manager, a designer, a developer, and sometimes a separate copywriter. You pay for the overhead and the hand-offs.
Working with me, you get one person across design, build, copy and SEO. Faster feedback, lower cost, fewer broken-telephone moments. The trade-off is that I take on a small number of projects at a time - so book early if you have a deadline.
Most projects run 4-8 weeks. Larger or e-commerce builds can run longer - we’ll agree the timeline in the quote.
One call, a written brief, a fixed-price quote. No formal pitch document.
Two design directions, one chosen, one round of edits in writing.
Site built, copy refined, photography shot if needed.
Soft launch, two-week tuning window, handover doc, done.
Every project is quoted as a fixed price after a short call, so you know exactly what you’re paying before any work starts. Prices include design, build, copywriting support, on-page SEO setup, and a two-week post-launch tuning window. Photography is quoted separately.
Send a brief and I’ll come back with a written proposal and a fixed price within 24 hours.

WordPress for most projects - it’s flexible, easy for clients to update, and well-supported. Webflow for design-heavy marketing sites. Custom code when the brief genuinely needs it. I’ll recommend based on what fits, not what’s trendy.
Yes - every site I build ships with proper title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, fast Core Web Vitals, and a clean site structure. Ongoing SEO (content, backlinks, ranking) is a separate service I can take on after launch.
I’ll set up hosting on your behalf with a recommended provider, or migrate to your existing one - but I don’t resell hosting or lock you in. You own the site and the accounts.
Yes - about half my projects are rebuilds rather than first-time sites. The process is similar; we’ll audit what’s working before changing it.
Yes - clients across the UK and remote. Liverpool clients sometimes get a kick-off meeting in person; everything else works the same.
